Lady Lions Fall to Lady Barons

Monaca, PA - On Wednesday, Sept. 1, the Franciscan University of Steubenville Lady Barons volleyball team defeated host Penn State Beaver in three sets, 25-21, 25-19, and 15-11.

Beaver looked strong in the first set and led the score most of the way, but Franciscan tied at 19-19 and pushed on for the win. In set two, the Lady Lions led early and built a 16-14 lead, but the Lady Barons took their second win. Finally, in the third set, the teams scored back and forth until the 7-7 point when Franciscan took the set and the match.

The Lady Lions will return to action at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 8 when they travel to take on the Lady Redhawks of La Roche College (Pittsburgh, PA).
