Monaca, PA - The Lady Lions finished 2-0 for the weekend as it swept Penn State Schuylkill, 3-0.

In the first two sets, Beaver won by the scores of 25-6 and 25-8. The third set proved to be more difficult, but the Lions pulled through with a third victory (25-16). 

In the win, Freshman Daina Owens (Farrell/New Castle, PA) had 9 kills and Senior Jen Hain (Northgate/Pittsburgh, PA) contributed 25 assists. Also, Freshman Kaitlyn Feher (Lincoln/Ellwood City, PA) had an impressive 6 kills on 7 attempts.

Beaver tallied 21 aces, 9 from Hain, 6 from Freshman Michelle Fegan (Quigley Catholic/Conway, PA), 3 from Junior Liz Hain (Northgate/Pittsburgh, PA), 2 from Freshman Shannon Faix (Brentwood/Pittsburgh, PA), and 1 from Freshman Jordan Headley (Waynesburg/Waynesburg, PA).

Freshman Sara Stillwell (Sto-Rox/Pittsburgh, PA) and Paige Hostetter (Beaver/Beaver, PA) each added 2 kills in the win, and Freshman Jessica Campbell (Beaver Falls/Beaver Falls, PA) contributed 4 digs.

The Lady Lions now stand at 9-3 in the PSUAC and 10-9 overall. On Tuesday, Oct. 5th, Beaver will host both Penn State Greater Allegheny and Franciscan University in a tri-match, beginning at 6 p.m.
