Lady Lions Defeat PS DuBois in Conference Match

Monaca, PA - The Penn State Beaver Lady Lions broke a five-match losing streak when they won their first PSUAC match of the season against Penn State DuBois, 25-16, 25-19, and 25-17.

In the first game, Beaver never allowed DuBois to gain a lead, and Beaver dominated, 25-16.

The second game was more competitive as Beaver made several communication errors, and DuBois managed to take a lead at 11-10. However, Beaver came back strong and took the win, 25-19. 

In the third game, Beaver was tired but again, never allowed DuBois to take the lead. Beaver earned a 3-0 sweep when they won, 25-17, and took the match.

Senior Jen Hain (Northgate High School, Pittsburgh, PA) had 26 assists while junior Heather Sandusky (New Brighton High School, New Brighton, PA) earned 10 kills and 10 digs. Sophomore Jessica Campbell (Beaver Falls High School, Beaver Falls, PA) added 3 aces.

On Friday, Sept. 11 the Beaver Lady Lions will travel to take on Penn State Worthington-Scranton at 6 p.m. Beaver is 1-0 in the PSUAC and 2-6 overall.
