Lady Lions Continue Winning Streak

The Penn State Beaver Lady Lions volleyball team extended its winning streak out of town on Sunday, Oct. 12 when they defeated Penn State Mont Alto, 3-0, and Penn State York, 3-0.
Beaver lost the first set against undefeated Mont Alto, 22-25. In the second set, however, Beaver took Mont Alto down, 25-20, and continued the wins in the third set, 25-20, and the fourth, 25-1.
Freshman Katie Landis (Rochester, PA) recorded 32 digs, sophomore Heather Sandusky (New Brighton, PA) led with 18 kills, and junior Jennifer Hain (Pittsburgh, PA) had 23 assists.
In the second match, Beaver won three sets against York, 25-14, 25-21, and 25-12.
Sandusky recorded 17 kills, Hain had 26 assists, and sophomore Brittany Clair (Cranberry, PA) had 18 digs.
Beaver is 15-1 in the PSUAC and 18-9 overall. The Lady Lions will conclude their PSUAC schedule when they return to Beaver for a 7 p.m. game against Penn State Greater Allegheny on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Following the game, Beaver will hold its annual Midnight Madness program to kick off the beginning of the men's and women's basketball seasons. Come out to support our teams!
