Monaca, PA – Penn State Beaver women's soccer hosted Penn State Mont Alto this afternoon in a PSUAC conference match. Penn State Beaver enters the match looking for their first conference win of the season while Penn State Mont Alto aims to keep their unbeaten streak alive.
As the match started much of the game was played in the middle of the field with both teams getting a couple scoring chances including a breakaway chance for Beaver. Once the teams settled in Beaver was defending deep in their own end of the field and allowing some good scoring chances for Mont Alto, but Beaver's goalie Gracie Turyan (Beaver, PA) came up with a few big saves in one-on-one opportunities for their striker. Mont Alto's pressure eventually created a goal in the 22nd minute. After scoring their goal Mont Alto had a bunch of momentum that propeled them to an additional two goals before the end of the half. After halftime Mont Alto came out to play the same way they finished the first and grabbed their fourth goal of the game ten minutes in. Beaver's defense was able to hold Mont Alto well for the next twenty minutes, but after that Mont Alto would go on to score four more before the end of the match for a final score of 8-0.
