Scranton, Pa - The Women's Soccer Team was back on the field today taking on Penn State Scranton. Today was a big game for the Lions as they pulled out their first win of the season and first conference win.
In the first half of the game, Beaver came out quick to score getting their first goal just two and a half minutes into the half. Beaver went on to scored two more goals almost back-to-back, one being at just under thirty minutes and the other being at thirty-two minutes. Beaver scored the last goal of the first half just before the half ended.
Beaver scored their last two goals in the second half of the game. The first of these two goals happened at just over fifty-three minutes and then again about a minute later. Beaver travels home with their first win of the season.
Third year Mckenzie McIntosh (Uniontown, WA) claimed player of the game finishing with 2 goals out of 3 shots taken and 1 assist. Fourth year Bailey Brown (Lexington, SC) also finished with 2 goals this game. Fifth year Abigail Pereira (Hillside, NJ) and first year Maeve Valeri (Zelienople, PA) each scored one goal for Beaver this game. Third year Allison VanKirk (Pittsburgh, PA) and fifth year Valentina Sandoval (Miami, FL) each finished with one assist.
