Beaver Falls, PA- The Penn State Beaver Women's soccer team hosted PSUAC rival Penn State Brandywine on Saturday. Though the effort was there and the women played well, the Lady Lions fell 4-1 to remain winless in the PSUAC.
In the first half, Beaver missed a few scoring opportunities, but goalie Megan Bartley kept Beaver close, recording 15 saves and giving up none, as Beaver went into the half tied 0-0. Five minutes into the second half, Brandywine struck to take a 1-0 lead. They tacked another one on 8 minutes later to make it 2-0. Beaver answered two minutes later, as freshman McKenzie McIntosh headed a pass from Sophomore Kylie Magnotta into the back of the net to pull within 1 (2-1). After a few Beaver injuries, the game got out of reach as Brandywine scored again at the 69 and 79 minute mark; making 4-1.
With the loss, Beaver drops to 2-7 overall and 1-4 in the PSUAC. The women return to action next Saturday, October 9th when they host PSU Hazleton. Gametime is set for 2 p.m.
