Aston, Pa -- The Penn State Beaver women's soccer team took on the women of Penn State Brandywine on the road this Saturday. Beaver comes into this game as the underdogs as they haven't played well so far this year as they currently stand at 3-7 overall on the year.
The game started out with Brandywine controlling the ball very well. They were able to attack Beaver's net very well and in the 28th minute they scored off of a penalty kick. Even though Beaver's Lauren Banks answered with a goal of her own in the 33rd minute, tying the game up. But that was short lived as Brandywine took the lead right back, eventually holding it until the end of the game. Brandywine dominated Beaver in the first half, out shooting them 12 shots to 4, and carrying that momentum into the second half in which they scored another goal. Beaver ended up on the losing end of this one by a score of 3-2.
Beaver lost in a tough matchup and now sits at 3-8 overall, with a 1-4 conference record. The team was led in this one by Freshman Lauren Banks, who had a team high two shots on goal and the team's only goal. Beaver looks to rebound from this loss as they return to action on Sunday, October 9 as the team travels to Penn State Worthington Scranton. Game time is set for 12 pm.
