Mont Alto, PA - The Lady Lions of Beaver traveled to Mont Alto Thursday afternoon to take on Penn State Schuylkill in the PSUAC Semi-finals.
Beaver were quickly one up on Schuylkill after junior, Jessica Spina (Jefferson Hills, PA/ Thomas Jefferson) scored the first goal of the game in under 10 minutes. A few minutes later, freshman Cortney Harden (Beaver Falls, PA/ Riverside) scored Beaver's second goal with an assist from Spina, giving Beaver the 2-0 lead.
Scoring Beaver's final goal of the day, was freshman Edisa Bukuru (Pittsburgh, PA/ Brashear) with another assist from Spina. Schuylkill were able to get a goal on the board bringing the score 3-1 before the second half. Each team continued playing through the second half, Beaver managed to hold Schuylkill at 3-1 for the rest of the game.
Beaver will advance to the PSUAC Championship game at University Park on Sunday, November 1st at 2:00 p.m.
