Unionville, PA - Beaver got back to its winning ways Monday, defeating WCCC 9-1.
The game started off on a high note for Beaver when Jessica Spina (Jefferson Hills, PA/ Thomas Jefferson) scored at the 5:54 mark off of a corner kick from Morgan Stillwagon (Freedom, PA/ Ambridge). Stillwagon scored Beaver's second goal two minutes later at the 7:05 mark with a low shot to the goal. At the 12 minute mark, Stillwagon got the third goal for Beaver after Cortney Harden (Beaver Falls, PA/ Riverside) assisted her off of a free kick. Spina made it 4-0 after 16 minutes when Edisa Bukuru (Pittsburgh, PA/ Brashear) crossed it. Bukuru earned another assist when she set up Spina for a hat trick and to put Beaver 5-0 up after just 23 minutes. Bukuru then scored herself, to put Beaver 6-0 up in 32 minutes thanks to a cross from Spina. WCCC answered back before the end of the first half making the score 6-1.
Spina got her fourth goal of the game and her eighth goal of the season in the 48th minute, after Stillwagon assisted her with a through ball. Ella Bose (Monaca, PA/ Beaver Falls) scored off of a rebound in the 66th minute to get her second goal of the season. Natalia Perez (San Juan, PR/ St. Mary's School) got Beaver's final goal of the game after another assist from Stillwagon. Beaver dominated the whole game, which showed in their total 33 shots compared to WCCC's 9.
Beaver's next game is Wednesday, October 14th, against Penn State Mont Alto at 4 p.m.
