Unionville, PA - The Lady Lions of Penn State Beaver took on the Lady Lions of Penn State Mont Alto Saturday, October 3, Beaver gaining a win of 3-0 against Mont Alto.
As the first half began each team were equally matched on the field until the 30th minute when Jessica Spina (Jefferson Hills, PA/ Thomas Jefferson) scored the first goal of the match assited by Morgan Stillwagon (Freedom, PA/ Ambridge). A minute later Stillwagon scored the second goal with the assist by Spina. The rest of the first half was silent by each team.
The second half started with a hard fight between each team but Mont Alto couldn't score a goal. Beaver was able to score one last goal before the match was over. Stillwagon was able to score the final goal of the match unassisted.
Leaders of the match were Stillwagon with 8 shots, 4 shots on goal, 2 goals, and 1 assit. Followed by Spina with 7 shots, 3 shots on goal, 1 goal, and 1 assist. Also 5 shots from Cortney Harden (Beaver Falls, PA/ Riverside) and 3 from Courtney Lindstrom (Beaver Falls, PA/ Beaver County Chrisitan).
