Murphy Scores Two; Barons Beat Beaver
Junior Leah Murphy Nets Two in Loss

Unionville, PA - The Penn State Beaver Lady Lions lost its third straight home game to the visiting Lady Barons of Franciscan University of Steubenville (OH), 10-2.
Beaver found themselves down early as the Lady Barons netted two quick goals before the 5th minute of play. Franciscan continued to pour it on as they took a 8-0 advantage to the half.
Junior Leah Murphy (Riverside/Fombell, PA) had a career day, as she scored the first two goals of the second half at the 57th and 64th minute marks, respectively. Murphy outmanuevered several Franciscan defenders and launched shots to the far post for each of her tallies, one from 18 yards out and the other from 12 yards away.
Unfortunately, the Lady Barons scored two more goals to make the final 10-2.
In the loss, keeper Kristen Sutton (Seneca Valley/Evans City, PA) made 22 saves while allowing all 10 goals. In addition, Murphy had all three of Beaver's shots on goal.
The Lady Lions will next travel to Hiram College (Hiram, OH) to face the Lady Terriers on Thursday, September 15 at 5 p.m.
