September 11, 2011
Unionville, PA - The Penn State Beaver Lady Lions Women's Soccer Team (0-5, 0-0 PSUAC) dropped the second game of a three game homestand against the Lady Hawks of Hilbert College (Hamburg, PA), by a 11-1 margin.
Beaver found themselves down early by a score of 4-0, when Beaver's Mary Carew (Hyde L.P.C.S./Washington, D.C.) ran through an attempted clear by Hilbert's keeper, Mary Zinni (Batavia/Batavia, NY) that found Carew's head and snuck into the Hilbert goal.
Unfortunately, Beaver could not generate any more offense as they found themselves down 7-1 at the half.
Sophomore Kristen Sutton (Seneca Valley/Evans City, PA) took over for Sophomore Brittany Martin (Hopewell/Tampa, FL) in net and allowed 4 goals on 20 shots, making seven saves in 45 minutes of play, to make the final 11-1
For the game, Beaver attempted 2 shots to Hilbert's 58, while Hilbert had seven corner kicks to Beaver's one.
