Lady Lions Win PSUAC Championship
Lady Lions beat Schuylkill 76-60 to win the championship
State College, PA- The Lady Lions travelled to the Bryce Jordan Center to take on Penn State Schuylkill to play for the PSUAC Championship. Beaver started the game on top and ended there as well. First-year Jaden Tesch (Chippewa, PA) had the first points of the game with a jumper. Second-year Claudia Siegfried (Wilkes-Barre, PA) followed her with a 3-pointer. Tesch was behind Siegfried with another jumper. Beaver was up 22-8 after the first half. Second year Emery Black (New Braunfels, TX) had the first and last points of the second quarter. The first was a free throw and the last was a jumper. Going into the half, the Lady Lions were up 35-23. Black, yet again, scored the first and the last points of the third quarter! Both of which were jump shots. Going into the fourth quarter, Beaver was up 49-42. Black scored the first points of the quarter with a jump shot. Second-year Taylor Woodruff (Pittsburgh, PA) got Beaver to their final score of 76 with two free throws.
First year Katie Enderle (Darlington, PA) had 13 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 steals, and the team's only block. Second year Emery Black (New Braunfels, TX) had 15 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. Second year Claudia Siegfried (Wilkes-Barre, PA) had 15 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 assist. Second year Taylor Woodruff (Pittsburgh, PA) had 11 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals
The Lady Lions had a great season! They finished the year with an overall record of 19-9 and 13-4 in the conference. They will continue their success in the National Tournament, so stay tuned to their games.
