Beaver Dominates Scranton with 47 Point Victory
Lady Lions beat Penn State Scranton in home victory, earning them another conference win.
Monaca, PA – Penn State Beaver took on Penn State Scranton tonight in another PSUAC match-up. The Lady Lions outscored their opponent by 28 in the first quarter alone with a score of 34-6. Outscoring them again by 13 in the second the Lady Lions went into halftime with a score of 60 – 19. Beaver once again outscored their opponent in the 3rd quarter by 9. Penn State Scranton would go on to outscore Beaver in the 4th quarter by 3. Scoring 3 seconds into the game was Second-year, Emery Black (New Braunfels, TX) who scored off a layup. Quickly following this up was Second-year, Claudia Siegfried (Wilkes-Barre, PA) who scored a 3-pointer to go up 5-0. Scranton would score 2 before Beaver would go on to score 21 points in a row. Black finished out the 1st quarter with a layup to get the team to 34. First-year, Katie Enderle (Darlington, PA) made the first points of the 2nd quarter, scoring off a layup. Beaver would score 13 in a row before Penn State Scranton would score their first points of the quarter. Siegfried scored another 3-pointer to go into halftime. Scoring another 7 straight coming out of the locker room the Lady Lions kept their foot on the gas. The 3rd quarter was closed out by First-year, Cashimere Ralph (Pittsburgh, PA) who made her layup. Going into the 4th quarter, Scranton was able to step up and finally scored first. In response to that, Second-year, Olympia Leckey (West Valley, NY) was the first to score with a free-throw. First-year, Morghan Prevost (Houston, TX) closed the game with a 3-pointer bringing their score to 91. With a final score of 91-44 the Lady Lions once again secured another PSUAC win.
First-year, Jaden Tesch (Chippewa, PA) lead her team and got her first collegiate career double-double, just as her Blackhawk counterpart, Enderle did earlier this week. Tesch had 14 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 steals, and 1 block in this game. Second-year, Claudia Siegfried (Wilkes-Barre, PA) scored and impressive 18 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals. First-year, Katie Enderle (Darlington, PA) scored 15 points, had 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals. Also scoring high tonight was Second-year, Emery Black (New Braunfels, TX) who scored 11 points, while also having 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. First-year, Cashimere Ralph (Pittsburgh, PA) and First-year, Bailey Rieg Pittsburgh, PA() both scored 8 points tonight. Ralph helped her team as well pulling down 8 rebounds. Second-year, Taylor Woodruff (Pittsburgh, PA) who scored 9 points with 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and a block. The team pulled down 41 rebounds, had 18 assists, and 21 steals, along with 2 blocks.
Penn State Beaver Women's Basketball is now 7-5 overall and 4-1 in conference play this season. The team will take the court again on Saturday, December 14th at 1pm when they take on another PSUAC Competitor, Penn State Hazleton.
