Within the first period Penn State Beaver started off fighting. As Penn State York took lead of the game quickly. Setting the tone for a tough game. The end of the first period the score of 17 - 9 with York in the lead. Starting off the second period Penn state beaver came out fighting yet Penn State York was not giving up their lead. Although they had some push back Penn State Beaver was determined to close the gap, ending the second period 27 - 21. With York in the lead. After halftime Penn State Beaver starts the game of with a fire. As they begin to close the gap more and more. Within the third period Penn state beaver was fighting back and bringing a strong defensive game. With this effort they were able to hold a tie for a better part of the third period. Ending the period with a score of 39 - 37 with Penn State York in the lead. With one more period remaining Penn State Beaver begins to fight for a strong finish. Through the first period Penn State Beaver begins to take the lead with 9 min remaining. As the clock ticks down Penn State Beaver puts a strong distance in score between them and Penn State York. By the end of the period Penn State Beaver was able to fight off York securing a win with the final score of the night being 57 - 65 with Penn State Beaver for the win!
Tonights game was an intense fight as the players left everything on the court. Some of those players include first year Taylor Woodruff ( Pittsburgh, PA) with 18 points. Followed by first year Emery Black (New Braunfels TX)with 17 points. Next was fourth year Alison Boykin (Canton, OH) with 9 points. Lastly was second year Makitah Logan ( Pittsburgh, PA) with 8 points.
Penn State Beavers Womens Basketball is off to championship with a record of 19 - 0 in confrence. Along with a 20 game winning streak. After winning their semi finals game the team heads to the Bryce Jordan Center to face Penn State Lehigh Valley Saturday March 2nd at 4:30 pm. Catch it all on the psu campus athletics network!
