A Winning Season Keeps the Lady Lions Going

Monaca, PA- The Lady Lions take on Penn State Greater Allegheny in a head to head PSUAC Conference match up on their home court. The Lady Lions continue their streak of winning 18 in a row and finishing their regular season record of 20-6 over and 19-0 in Conference play. Defeating Penn State Greater Allegheny with a final score of 85-62.

To start the first quarter Penn State Greater Allegheny gained possession. Great defense was played by both teams but scoring first was Beaver Second year, Makitah Logan (Pittsburgh, PA) getting fouled and making both free throws. A steal by Fourth year, Caitlyn O'Hara (Norton, CA) allowed her to add 2 points for Beaver. A jump shot made by First year, Claudia Siegfried gave Beaver a 6-0 lead. Penn State Greater Allegheny added 2 points to their score but Second year, Daniela Guzman (Plainview,TX) quickly got that back by draining a 3 pointer. Another huge 3 pointer made by First year, Emery Black (New Braunfels, TX) gives Beaver a 10 point lead. Ending the first quarter with a score of 28-13 Beaver. Starting the second quarter Penn State Greater Allegheny score first with a made free throw. But Beaver got that back with a made lay up by Second year, Daniela Guzman (Plainview, TX). Right after that with a made 3 pointer First year, Emery Black (New Braunfels, TX). Following that with a steal by Fourth year, Caitlyn O'Hara (Norco, CA) with a made jump shot. Back to back made three pointers gave Beaver the confidence and momentum to head into halftime with a score of 56-27.

Coming out of halftime Penn State Greater Allegheny had possession and added 2 points to their score. A lay up by First year, Claudia Siegfried (Wilkes-Barre, PA) added 2 to Beavers score. Another lay up by Fourth year, Alison Boykin (Canton, OH) adds to Beavers 32 point lead. Beaver has been in control the whole game and keeps pushing adding to their score. Ending the third quarter with a score of 71-43 Beaver. To start the fourth quarter Fourth year, Caitlyn O'Hara (Norco, CA) was fouled and made both free throws. Another foul by Penn State Greater Allegheny allowed First year, Emery Black (New Braunfels, TX) to drain two from the free throw line. Beaver continued adding to their score the rest of quarter and dominating over their opponents ending the game with a final score of 85-62.
