Beaver Continues The Win Streak Defeating Penn State DuBois

DuBois, PA- The Lady Lions were on the road today traveling for another conference game against Penn State DuBois. The team continues their win streak and now sits 12-0 in conference play for the PSUAC after defeating DuBois. Beaver dominated the first quarter and ended up leading 38-30 at half time. Beaver kept pushing and ended the game with a final score of 69-60. 

Beaver gained quick possession starting off at tip-off. Starting the scoring for Beaver was Second year, Daniela Guzman (Plainview, TX) with a nice pass from Fourth year, Caitlyn O'Hara (Norco, CA). In the first 5 minutes Beaver went on a 8-0 scoring streak ending the first quarter with a score of 24-11. Starting the second quarter DuBois came out with some fight scoring 20 points in that quarter until Beaver found their momentum and added 14 points, they went into half time with a score of 38-30 Beaver. Coming out of halftime Beaver scored first and kept the pressure throughout the entire quarter adding on 19 points. The final quarter DuBois made the game closer at first but Beaver worked together and finished the game strong with a final score of 69-60.

Beaver had some key contributors to tonights game, one of them being the leading scorer Second year, Makitah Logan (Pittsburgh, PA) who scored 18 points, had 6 steals, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, and was 3-4 at the free throw line. Next was First year, Emery Black (New Braunfels, TX) who scored 16 points, had 7 steals, 2 rebounds and was 2-2 at the free throw line. Fourth year, Alison Boykin (Canton, OH) also contributed having 9 points, 1 steal, 2 assists, 5 rebounds, and 1 block. Also scoring 8 points each were First year, Claudia Siegfried (Wilkes-Barre, PA) and Daniela Guzman (Plainview, TX). 

The team is now 12-6 overall and continue their perfect 12-0 PSUAC Conference record. Beaver takes on Christendom College Saturday, January 27th on their home court.
