Beaver Wins First Game of the Season

Monaca, PA - Penn State Beaver Women's Basketball is back in action winning their first game of the season against Community College of Beaver County. Beaver came out strong in the first quarter scoring 27 points while CCBC only had 9. Beaver then came out to score 24 more points in the second quarter and CCBC scored 13. Beaver came out strong in the third quarter allowing CCBC to score only 5 points while Beaver scored 23. The last quarter of the game CCBC scored 13 and Beaver 17. The game ended with beaver winning 91-40.

Freshman Makitah Logan (Pittsburgh, PA) was tonight's player of the game having 16 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals. Logan went 7-11 from the field and 1-1 from the free-throw line. Logan had 4 offensive rebounds and 4 defensive rebounds. Junior Alison Boykin (Canton, OH) was also a top scorer tonight having 16 points. Boyking also had 3 steals, 2 assists, and 4 rebounds. Boykin went 7-14 from the field, 1-3 from the three, and 1-4 from the free throw line. Junior Caitlyn O'Hara (Norco, CA) had 12 points, 4 steals, 1 assist, and 5 rebounds. O'Hara went 5-12 from the field and 2-5 form the free-throw line. Freshman Gabrielle Garrison (Bristow, VA) scored 12 points, 1 steal, 3 assists, and 3 rebounds. Junior Katherine Miller (Naples, FL) scored 10 points and had 7 rebounds. Freshman Daniela Guzman (Plainview, TX) had 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals.
