Beaver Struggles at Carlow University
Beaver - 38, Carlow - 69
Pittsburgh, PA -- Beaver's struggles continue as they travled to USCAA, Carlow University in their last game before the Thanksgiving break.
Right away the ladies found themselves trailing, struggling to maintain possession and turning the ball over three times in the first two minutes of the game. Despite trailing by as many as nine in the first quarter, Beaver rallied and narrowed the deficit to a mere one point (15-16) on a Cheyenne Lopez jumper. In the second, Carlow again distanced themselves by about ten points, but the Lady Lions came within 7 on a Brittany Jackson jump shot, before trailing 36-25 heading into halftime.
Scoring became an issue for Beaver in the second half as they fell behind by 20 points only 5 minutes into the third quarter and only scored 13 points in the half, falling by a final score of 69-38 to drop to 0-5 this season.
Only shooting 25% from the floor, Beaver was led by Jackson with 17 points and 10 rebounds, the only player to score in the double digits, however, every player for Beaver saw playing time and had at least one point in the game.
The Lady Lions will return to action, after a week off, on Tuesday, November 28th when they host Penn State Greater Allegheny to open conference play.
