The Penn State Beaver lady lions traveled to Carlow University for one of their toughest matchups yet this season. The team came into the game on a five game winning streak, in which the team has played very well while moving up the USCAA rankings.
This game was one of the worst losses the ladies have taken all season. Being the more physical and tough team, Carlow was able to control the game from start to finish. Beaver was outscored in evey quarter, never coming close to taking the lead from Carlow even as they continued to fight from begining to end. When this one was all said and done, Beaver headed home with an 82-39 loss.
After this big loss, Beaver now sits with an 11-4 overall record this season. While the team may not have been able to improve their non-conference record, they still remain undefeated in PSUAC play headed into the final stretch of their schedule. The team was led in their losing effort by Senior Mason Depetro (Pittsburgh, PA / Cornell), who lead the team with 12 points while taking in 7 rebounds. Beaver will return home for their next game on Friday, January 20, against Penn State Brandywine. Game time is set for 6 pm, and there will be a free beanie giveaways to all fans in attendance.
