Vienna, WV - Lady Lions take tough loss to Ohio Valley , after coming off of a 93-36 win against Penn State York.
In the first quarter, the Lady Lions found themselves down early despite key shots from Miranda Davis (Port Saint Lucie, FL / Saint Lucie West Centennial) and Khalia Adams (Washington, DC/Phelps) who scored ten of Beaver's 12 points in the opening quarter.
In the second, Beaver rallied to bring the game within five points at the 9:14 mark off of a Mason Depetro (Pittsburgh, PA / Cornell) jumper. This small spark was not enough to ignite the Beaver offense as the Fighting Scots continued to grow their lead to 16 (42-26) at halftime.
In the third quarter, the Lady Lions were held to just 18 points, but in the fnal ten minutes of the game, Beaver did find a spark as they outscoring OVU 26-17 with Adams and Morgan Kurtz (Washington, PA / Trinity) leading the charge as they combined for 22 of Beaver's 26 points. Unfortunately their surge was too little too late as they were unable to overcome the deficit and would fall by a final score of 94-70. This loss drops their overall record to 6-9.
Leading the Lady Lions was Adams with 30 points followed by Kurtz with 22.
Beaver continues their road trip on Wednesday, January 20th as they travel to Penn State Dubois for a PSUAC match-up.
