Lady Lions fall to Central Maine CC on the road
Beaver lose, 86-70

Auburn, ME - Lady Lions travel to Maine to take on Central Maine CC where they were defeated 86-70, Saturday night.
Beaver tipped the first period off slow but turned it around at the 7:03 mark, tieing the game 6-6. From then on, the Lady Lions had the advantage up until the end of the first period. Central Maine attacked back, scoring 7 points ahead against Beaver, leading 27-21. The second period opened up with Central Maine rallying in points against Beaver. London Thompson-Wade (Monroeville, PA/ Gateaway) finished Central's rally when she put two points up on the board for Beaver off of a layup. Unfortunately Beaver ended the second half down 43-27.
Beaver opened the third quarter up with a 2 points gained off of a layup from Asia Borders (Ellwood City, PA/ Lincoln). Beaver were gradually catching up in points. With multiple free throws scored by Mia Mattes (Bethel Park, PA/ Bethel Park), Beaver were down by only 14 points at the end of the third quarter (66-52). Despite the efforts from Beaver, they came just short of winning against Central Maine CC.
Leading the Lady Lions offensively was Khalia Adams (Washington, DC/ Phelps) with 27 points. Following Adams was Morgan Kurtz (Washington, PA/ Trinity) with 15 and Mattes with 10 points respectively.
Beaver's next game is Sunday, November 22 at 3 p.m. against Southern Maine CC.
