Beaver picks up another road win, 66-65.
New Philadelphia, OH -- Women's basketball picks up their sixth win of the season.
The Lady Lions traveled to Division III Kent State University - Tuscarawas tonight for a non-conference match-up.
In what proved to be a very evenly matched game, Beaver pulled out the win in the last two and a half minutes of the game. Down 8, the Lady Lions found themselves at the foul line after a technical foul by Kent, according to Coach Moore, it was the edge they needed to pull out the victory.
Leading the offense were Brittany Mineard (Beaver Falls, PA/Beaver Falls) who put up 17 points, including hitting the foul shots on the technical foul to seal the win. Sydnee Abernathy (Pittsburgh, PA / Allderdice) added 15 points and Asia Borders (Ellwood City, PA / Lincoln) scored 14 points. Also playing a big role in the win was Morgan Kurtz (Washington, PA/Trinity) who hit two critical three pointers and contributed from the foul line down the stretch.
The Lady Lions return to action Saturday at home when they host Penn State Lehigh Valley for a 3:00 p.m. tip-off.
