Monaca, PA--- Penn State Beaver hosted Geneva College today at 6 p.m.
In the first half Beaver played very well dominating on both sides of the ball. Beaver showed no sign of letting up in the first half. The Lady Lions used their athletic ability to push the ball and get easy points in transition. In the last 10 minutes of the first half Beaver went on a 10-0 run which made the score 29 to 15. Beaver's defense made Geneva turn the ball over 9 times. Beaver also out rebounded Geneva 35-22 in the first half.
In the second half Beaver went on another 11-0 run to make the score 58-28. After taking the big lead Beaver never looked back and went on to win the game 85-61. Beaver kept up the intensity and dominated Geneva out rebounding them 53-32. Beaver also shared the ball very well with 16 assists.
Beaver had 3 people in double digits today. Cassandra Flowers (Pittsburgh, Pa/Westinghouse) led the team with 24 points and 16 rebounds, Brittany Mineard (Beaver Falls, Pa/Beaver Falls) and Morgan Kurtz (Washington, Pa/ Trinity) both had 14 points each. Beaver improved their record to 3-2.
Beaver's next game is November 29th at 2 p.m. against Slippery Rock University.
