Lady Lion's winning streak gets cut short
Lady Lions Lose, 90-82, Drop to 2nd Place in PSUAC
Monaca, PA- The Penn State Beaver women's basketball team returned home after a two game away trip to face Penn State Fayette in a battle for first place.
In the first half, Beaver opened with a 9-0 run before Fayette scored their first points at the 17:33 mark. Beaver then brought their lead back to 8 before Fayette began to chip away. Beaver led most of the half until the 8:20 mark when Fayette took their first lead. Their one point lead didn't build momentum though and Beaver went on to win the half, 46-44. Beaver led for most of the second half but gave up the lead for good with four minutes left. Fayette would win the game 90-82.
Beaver's top scorers during the night were Morgan Kurtz (Washington, PA / Trinity) and Cassandra Flowers (Pittsburgh, PA / Westinghouse) each with 18 points and Khalia Adams (Washington, DC / Phelps) who had 14. Natalie Gamble (McKees Rocks, PA / Sto-Rox) led the team in rebounds for the night with 13.
Beaver faces off against Penn State Lehigh Valley at home on Saturday where they hope to shake the loss against Fayette.
