Lady Lions lose at National Tournament
Albany College beats Beaver 58-48
Uniontown, PA----- The Penn State Beaver Lady Lions were defeated in the USCAA National Tournament semifinals on Friday night, losing by a score of 58-48 to Albany College of Pharmacy, ending their season with an overall record of 21-8. The Lions led the entire game up until the 4:00 minute mark of the second half when Albany College finally took the lead for good. Beaver led 30-26 at the half and led by as many as 8 in the second half but Albany was able to comeback for the victory.
Beaver was led by Morgan Kurtz (Washington, Trinity) who finished with a team-high 11 points. Brittany Tomaselli (East Liverpool, East Liverpool) scored 9 points while also adding 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Hayden Kimbrough (Rochester, Rochester) added 7 points and 8 rebounds while Cassandra Flowers (Pittsburgh, Westinghouse) collected 10 rebounds for Beaver in the loss.
Beaver finishes the season 21-8 overall and were the 2012-2013 PSUAC Champions as well as semifinalists in the USCAA National Tournament.
