Beaver tops GA
Lady Lions now 6-0 in conference play
Monaca, PA---- The Lady Lions of Penn State Beaver won their sixth straight game as they defeated PSU Greater Allegheny at home Tuesday night by a score of 87-50. Beaver got going early as they opened up with a 7-0 run and extended the lead to 20 with 5:30 left in the first half. They extended their lead to 33 from the fourth three-pointer in the half from Khalia Adams (Washington DC, Phelps) as she finished with 14 points in the first half. Beaver would take a 48-16 lead into the half and came away with the victory by the final of 87-50. Beaver shot 40% from the field compared to Greater Allegheny's 23% and outrebounded them 56-35. Beaver's strong first half was the difference in the contest as Beaver improves to 9-2 overall and 6-0 in the PSUAC.
Morgan Kurtz (Washington, Trinity) was the leading scorer for Beaver, finshing with 16 points and Adams added 14 points including the four 3's. Amanda Temple (Avella, Avella) and Katie Dennis (Hookstown, South Side) both finshed with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists while Brooke Mulneix (Beaver Falls, Riverside) added 12 points to go along with 8 rebounds. Cassandra Flowers (Pittsburgh, Westinghouse) scored 9 points and had 7 rebounds and Jocelyn Warfield (Monaca, Central Valley) also had 7 rebounds. Brittany Tomaselli (East Liverpool, East Liverpool) dished out 5 assists for Beaver in the win.
Beaver will play again on Thursday night when they travel to Penn State Fayette with the start time scheduled for 6pm.
