Wilkes-Barre, PA---- Penn State Beaver played their second game of their weekend road trip on Saturday afternoon and came away with a 2-0 start in conference play as they defeated PSU Wilkes-Barre 76-43. Beaver controlled the contest throughout, as they led 33-17 at half and extended that lead in the second half to win the game. Beaver outshot Wilkes-Barre 41% to 22% from the field and had only 16 turnovers compared to Wilkes-Barre's 30.
Morgan Kurtz (Washington, Trinity) led the scoring for Beaver as she finshed with 14 points. Cassandra Flowers (Pittsburgh, Westinghouse) added 13 points and also had 5 rebounds as two Lady Lions finished in double figures. Jocelyn Warfield (Monaca, Central Valley) had 9 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Brittany Tomaselli (East Liverpool, East Liverpool) dished out 6 assists for Beaver.
Beaver will play again on Wednesday when they travel to DuBois for another PSUAC conference matchup with tip-off at 6pm.
