The Lady Lions hosted another home game today. The Lady Lions played a tough double-header today against Hazleton. Both games were close and nailbitters. The Lady Lions split winning the first game and unfortunately losing the second game.
In the first game, both teams were pitching well and did not allow many runs until later in the third and fourth innning. The Lady Lions started to start making some runs in the second and third innings. 5th year, Valentina Sandoval (Miami, FL) made a biug impact by getting some good hits as well as 3rd year, Mackenzie Boyd (Beaver, PA) also made 2 great hits to help Beaver stay in it. They had a huge comback and won the first game in the last inning while First year, Kierstyn Mays (Sterling, IL) hit a home run to seal the deal for the Lady Lions. The Lady Lions won the first game 5-4.
In the second game, the Lady Lions got off to the slow start in the second game. 3rd year, Maria Matts (Piitsburgh, PA) scored 1 run early in the first innning to put Beaver on the board. 5th year, Chloe Coleman (Moon Twp, PA) finished the day 1 run, 1 RBI, and 2 hits. 3rd year, Mackenzie Boyd (Beaver, PA) and 3rd year, Maria Matts (Pittsburgh, PA) both contributed to help Beaver score throughout the game.
1st year, Kierstyn Mays (Sterling, IL) won player of the game for today's matchup. She finsihed the day with 1 Home run, 3 hits, 3 RBI, 1 run!!
