Beaver Softball team takes a win and a loss

Myrtle Beach NC- Penn State Beaver Women's Softball kicks off day three down in Myrtle Beach for Spring training . In the day three match up the team played a double header against Cedar Crest at 9 am and Rochester at 1 pm! 

Within the first game of the day Penn State Beaver took on Cedar Crest. The game was fierce as both teams fought hard in this match up. Yet Beaver came determined as they started off the game with a strong lead scoring 3 runs within the first inning. While Cedar Crest scored none. From there Penn State Beaver kept a steady defense as they didn't let Cedar Crest Score more than 1 run in the third inning and none in the second and fourth. On top of that Penn State also scored an additional 4 runs within the fourth inning. Putting the score at 7 - 1 by the end of the fourth inning. As the game continued Cedar Crest was able to score 3 more runs within the fifth inning Putting the score at 7 - 4 with Penn State Beaver in the lead. This would go on to be the final score as both teams did not score in the sixth and seventh inning. Putting Penn State Beaver at a win on day three down in Myrtle Beach. 

The second game of the day Penn State Beaver took on Rochester. This game started off intense with Rochester scoring 7 runs within the first inning, while Beaver scored none within the top of the second inning. Beaver was determined to get back into the game. The team scored 4 runs within the second inning and only allowed Rochester to score 2. During the third inning both teams had not scored any runs putting the total score at 9 - 4 with Rochester taking the lead. As the game continued both teams fought hard, Within the fourth inning Beaver was able to score one run to Rochesters none. Leading into the fifth inning both teams scored three runs. During the sixth inning both teams didn't score any runs. Within the seventh inning Penn State Beaver was able to score one more run. Ending the game with a score of 12 - 9 with Rochester taking the win.

The Penn State Beaver Softball team will play again on Wednesday March 6. As they will play at 11 am and at 1 pm. Keep up with the team's time down at Myrtle Beach on beaverathletics.com.
