Beaver drops Two in Non-Conference to La Roche University

McCandless, PA - The Softball team had a great start to their season during spring training, but the game following have not gone their way. Going into this game, Beaver had lost their home opener to Carlow, and their first conference double-header of the season. Their games today against La Roche proved to be tough competition. 

The first game started off rough for Beaver. In the first three innings, La Roche cored 8 runs.Beaver was able to score 3 runs of their own in the top of the fourth, but La roche secured the victory scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the fourth and a single run in the fifth inning. Beaver headed into the second game losing 11-3. 

The second game was not much better for Beaver. La Roche came out again scoring 7 runs in the first three innings. Beaver managed to put up 5 runs between the fourth and fifth innings, but La Roche closed the game scoring three runs between the fourth and sixth innings. Beaver had no luck in the top of the seventh, and La Roche secured two wins defeating Beaver 10-5. 

Senior Kaitlyn Dunlavey (Salem, NY) was the player of the game today finishing the day with 3 runs and 2 RBIs off of 4 total hits.  Senior Cassadie Speed (Cranbury, NJ) finished the day with 2 runs off of 3 total hit Sophomore Elena Denezza (New Brighton, PA) finished with 2 runs and an RBI. 

Beaver will be back in play for another non-conference game taking on Hocking College at home on Wednesday, March 29. This double-header will begin at 3 pm, so be sure to come out and show your support! If you can't make it be sure to watch the game live on the Rise and Roar Network!
