Beaver Wraps Up Regular Season with Potomac State University

Monaca, PA - Today's game against Potomac State finalizes the regular season for the Lady Lions. After a tough fought season they finished 14-12 overall and 12-6 in the PSUAC, where playoffs begin Friday. Today the Lady Lions fought hard but were unable to secure a win in either game after scoring a total of 10 runs off, 13 hits. Losing the first game with a score of 13-1 and the second game with a score of 14-9, the Lady Lions learned how to push through the cold and come out stronger. 

In game one, Freshman, Gabbey Flynt, started on the mound for Beaver pitching all 5 innings, giving up 11 hits and striking out 2. She faced 32 batters total in game one. Junior Chloe Coleman went 1 for 2 with a double and had one of the teams two hits this game, as well as she was the only Lady Lion to cross the plate in game one. Junior, Cassadie Speed went 1 for 1 and had a walk in this game, she also drove in Coleman, having the only RBI of the game. 

For game two, Freshman, Kiana Stamper threw a complete game giving up 16 hits, but only 10 earned runs to their 14 runs. Stamper faced 41 batters this game. Junior, Chloe Coleman had a day at the plate going 3 for 4 with 3 RBI's and scoring 2 runs. Coleman also hit her first Collegiate homerun this game. Junior, Cassadie Speed continued to stay hot from the first game going 3 for 4 with 2 RBI's and scoring 1 run. Both, Speed, and Sophomore, Kylie Magnotta hit doubles in this game. Junior, Desiree Aponte, Freshman, Kelsey Stoner, and Freshman, Maria Matts all brought in a run as well with an RBI. 

Though this was the last regular season game, the season is not yet over for the Lady Lions. On Friday, April 29th, they will travel to take part of the first round of PSUAC Playoffs. They are scheduled to face off against Penn State DuBois, at Maple Zone, which is home to Penn State Brandywine.
