Monaca, PA - The Lady Lions fought hard and were able to take 2 games from a PSUAC competitor and improve their overall standings. Beaver ended game 1 in 5 innings with a score of 9-0 and game 2 in 5 innings with a score of 16-5. The Lady Lions continue their fight in the PSUAC and the USCAA hoping to make a run in the playoffs and continue their season for a little while longer.
In game 1, Junior, Desiree Aponte took charge in the circle, throwing 4 innings giving up 2 hits, 0 runs, and striking out 1. Freshman, Kiana Stamper came in for relief throwing 1 innings striking out 1 as well. Beaver had 9 hits this game, 3 hits from both Senior, Skylar Duffee, and Junior, Valentina Sandoval. Duffee had 2 RBI's and scored 1 run, while Sandoval, had 3 RBI's and scored 2 runs. Junior, Cassadie Speed hit a double and went 2 for 4. Junior, Chloe Coleman, Freshman, Kelsey Stoner, and Sophomore, Kylie Magnotta all contributed to the RBI tally as well.
For game 2, Junior Desiree Aponte got the start as well throwing 3 more innings, while Freshman, Gabbey Flynt came in for relief throwing 2 innings. Aponte allowed 6 hits and had 3 strikeouts, while Flynt allowed 2 hits and tallied 2 strikeouts. From the plate, Junior, Desiree Aponte helped herself even more hitting a double and a homerun bringing in 5 runs and scoring 2 herself. Senior, Skylar Duffee went 2 for 4 but brought in 3 runs and scored 3 in Beaver's dominating win today. Junior, Cassadie Speed went 3 for 4 this game with 5 RBI's and 3 runs, while Junior Chloe Coleman went 3 for 5 tallying 2 more RBI's and 2 runs. Soophomore Kylie Magnotta helped bring in a run for Beaver too with her triple. Beaver had 12 hits this game helping them finish with a score of 16-5 scoring 10 runs in the 4th inning.
Beaver's next game will be on April 24th at 2pm and 4pm when they take on Penn State Mont Alto.
