Monaca, PA - The Lady Lions pick up two more wins today as they continue their win streak and remain unbeaten in conference play. Finishing the first game in 5 innings with a score of 14-0 the Beaver was ready for anything. The second game Penn State Hazleton gave Beaver a hard fight sending it into extras where Beaver fought hard to compete and finished the game 3-2. The Lions not only fought hard in the game but they fought the elements, showing their true competitive nature.
In the first game, Junior, Desiree Aponte pitched all 5 innings, tallying 5 strikeouts and only giving up 3 hits. She faced 18 batters and gave up 0 runs on the day, leading the PSUAC in conference play ERA with 0.00. The bats continued to stay hot for Beaver, lead by Senior, Skylar Duffee who went 2 for 2 with a double and a homerun, scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Junior, Chloe Coleman, went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI's, a double, and scored 4 runs, and stole 6 bases. The team scored 14 runs off 12 hits.
The second game was a harder fight for Beaver, taking it into extras but winning 3-2. On the mound was Freshman, Gabbey Flynt who took home the win in 8.0 innings, striking out 4. Juniors, Desiree Aponte, and Cassadie Speed both went 2 for 3 at the plate in this game helping give Beaver ample chances in the game. Senior, Skylar Duffee continued to have a day at the plate going 3 for 4 with 2 RBI's, one of which was the RBI that scored the winning run in the 8th. 5 players for Beaver were in on double plays this game, Juniors, Chloe Coleman, and Valentina Sandoval, Freshman, Kayla Fink, and Elena Denezza, and Senior, Skylar Duffee.
