Monaca, PA - The Lady Lions keep their win streak alive in 2 dominate wins over Penn State Scranton, and continue to strengten their conference record. The Lady Lions fought hard and worked well as a team to start their week of games off right. The final scores of both games were 18-1 and 24-0.
In the first game, the Lady Lions were able to string together 23 hits for 18 runs. Junior, Chloe Coleman, went 3 for 4, scoring 3 runs for Beaver and driving in 1 with an RBI. Senior, Skylar Duffee went 1 for 2 with a run and 2 RBI's. Five players for Beaver hit doubles today, Cassaide Speed, Skylar Duffee, Desiree Aponte, Kiana Stamper, and Chloe Coleman, who hit 3 doubles in the first game. On the mound was Junior, Desiree Aponte who pitched 4.0 innings, gave up only 2 hits, and added 9 more strikeouts to her tally. In relief for Aponte was Junior, Valentina Sandoval who pitched 1 inning and tallied 2 strikeouts in her first apperence for Beaver.
The second game for Beaver started off hot, scoring 11 runs in the first inning. The team strung together 19 hits this game with 4 coming from Junior, Cassadie Speed who hit a triple and homerun as well, scoring 4 runs for Beaver and having 5 RBI's. Junior, Chloe Coleman went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI's and scored 2 runs in the second game. Coleman also drew a walk in one plate apperance and hit one of the teams 2 doubles for the game. Junior, Desiree Aponte went 2 for 2 as well with 2 RBI's and scored 1 run. On the mound this game was Freshman, Kiana Stamper who went 3.0 innings, allowed only 2 hits and struck out 6. In relief this game was Freshman, Gabbey Flynt who went 2.0 innings, allowing only 1 hit, and striking out 3. Stamper faced 11 batters and Flynt faced 6.
