Beaver Wins First Conference Game of the Season 9-1
The Lady Lions beat Penn State Mont Alto in their first PSUAC conference game this season
Monaca, PA - Despite the rain, the Lady Lions came out victorious in their first PSUAC Conference match-up this season winning 9-1. Playing a tough fought 6 innings, the ladies played together and hit well all game. After the first game though the Lady Lions were unable to continue playing due to weather and ended up only being able to secure 1 win. The next game with Penn State Mont Alto will be announced at a later date.
Some notable players for Beaver were Freshman, Gabbey Flynt who pitched the full game giving up only 2 hits and 1 run while striking out 2 batters. Junior, Chloe Coleman also helped the Lions by going 2-2 with an RBI and scoring a run. Senior, Skylar Duffee also helped the team at the plate going 2-3 and scoring a run, but she also helped in the field by turning a double play and securing some big outs for the team.
In total the team had 8 hits, 4 walks, scored 9 runs, and tallied 5 RBI's for the day. Three players for Beaver hit doubles today, Chloe Coleman, Desiree Aponte, and Kylie Magnotta. This was a great team win for the Lady Lions as they begin to play in PSUAC conference match-ups!
The Lady Lions next game will be on Tuesday, March 29th at 3pm and 5pm. They will take on Thiel College at home so make sure to come out and support or catch all the action live on the Rise and Roar Network!
