Monaca, PA - Today was the home opener for the Penn State Beaver Women's Softball team as they took on Bryant & Stratton - Solon in a double header. The ladies had a slow start in the first three innings of game 1 in the double header not having any runs on the board until Senior, Skylar Duffee scored off of Junior, Cassadie Speed's RBI. Not much oppurtunity opened up for the ladies as Bryant & Stratton - Solon scored four runs ending the game in the seventh inning.
In the second game Junior, Desiree Aponte gave Beaver their first four runs hitting a grand slam giving the team the lead and helping them bounce back from game 1. The team seemed to love "free stuff" as for the rest of the game consisted of alot of walks, bases stole and runs giving Beaver 14 -1 to take the win. In a dominating win, the Lions ended the game early finishing in 5 innings.
The Lady Lions next game will be a double header at Waynesburg University, Wednesday March 23rd, games and will be played at 3pm and 5pm if you can't make it be sure to check out all the latest information online through the website and stay as up to date as possible for the Lady Lions schedule.
