Beaver Finishes in 8th Place in the USCAA Softball Championship Tournament
Beaver falls to Cleary, 9-0.
Akron, OH -- Beaver Finishes in 8th Place in the USCAA Softball Championship Tournament, falling to Cleary 9-0.
Squaring off against Cleary University for the second time this week, Beaver looked to improve upon their first matchup.
After giving up an early run in the bottom of the first inning, Beaver kept the Courgars off of the board in the second.
Unfortunately, in the third inning, Cleary had 7 hits off of freshman, Sarah Foose (New Bloomfield, PA / West Perry), scoring 8 runs on the defense and pitching of Beaver.
In the fourth inning, Carly Schroeder (Freedom, PA / Freedom) came in to pitch, facing five batters and in the fifth Emily Dietrich (Sewickley, PA / Quaker Valley) closed the season for the Lady Lions.
Earning Beaver's only hit in the game was senior, Rachael Charlier (Burgettstown, PA / Burgettstown) who closes her career with a batting average of .329 with 71 total RBI's.
The Lady Lions finish the 2016 season with an overall record of 28-24, finishing in eighth place in the USCAA and 10-4 in the PSUAC, finishing as the runner-up in the conference championship.
