Three Lady Lions Receive PSUAC Honors
Rachael Charlier, Vanessa Jackson and Jenna Petrucci earn PSUAC honors.
Monaca, PA -- Three Lady Lions earned PSUAC honors this season for the efforts on the field.
First is senior, Rachael Charlier. Rachael is the starting catcher and the vocal leader on the team. She batted an impressive .375 which was the second highest average on the team. She tallied a total of 45 hits and 26 RBI's in her senior campaign. Behind the plate she was nearly perfect, committing only 2 erros this season with 149 put outs.
Vanessa Jackson, a transfer from the state of Washington, also earned herself a spot on the 1st team as well as Newcomer of the Year for her outstanding season not only offensively but from the circle as well. From the plate she boasted a team leading batting average of .409 which landed her among the top 10 players in the conference. She tallied 47 hits and 37 RBI's in her first year with the program. On the mound she has an ERA of 2.34, third in the PSUAC. Jackson also finishes in second place in the conference in strikeouts with 96 this season.
Finally, Jenna Petrucci, in her second season with the program has earned herself a spot on the 2nd team. Jenna hit .374 bringing in 25 RBI's this season. Jenna is also the only female athlete this academic year to compete in all three sports seasons, playing volleyball, basketball and softball.
