Scranton, PA -- Beaver picks up two more wins over Worthington-Scranton.
In game one of the double header, Beaver jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after the third inning off of a sacrifice bunt by Brittany Garza (La Feria, TX / La Feria) that scored Asia Borders (Ellwood City, PA / Ellwood) and an error by the Scranton defense that allowed Jenna Petrucci (New Castle, PA / Shenango) to score.
After a scoreless fourth, Beaver continued to slowly grow their lead adding a run in the fifth, two more in the sixth and one last run in the seventh to take the 6-0 win.
Leading the offense were Vanessa Jackson (Snohomish, WA / Snohomish), Dina Cable (Mannington, NJ / Salem County Vo Tech) and Borders who each contributed two hits in the game. Pitching the shut out was Jackson who gave up just three hits while striking out four.
Game two saw the same outcome as Beaver cruised to a 12-2 victory in just six innings.
With nine of the ten Beaver batters in the game earning at least one hit, they were able to generate an impressive 12 runs on 12 hits in just 29 total at bats. Leading the offense were Brenna Cepull (Monaca, PA / Central Valley) who went 2 for 2 and both Brittany Zahn (New Brighton, PA / New Brighton) and Brittany Garza (La Feria, TX / La Feria) who each went 2 for 3 with an RBI.
Earning the win from the circle in game two was Sarah Foose (New Bloomfield, PA / West Perry).
