Carlow would begin the top of the first scoring 3 runs on 2 errors putting Beaver in an early hole. Beaver would score a run in the bottom of the 5th inning on a Junior Jenna Perucci (New Castle, PA/Shenango) groundout scoring Junior Asia Borders (Ellwood City, PA/Ellwood). Carlow would come back though scoring a run in the top of the 6th inning and the 7th. Beaver would rally in the bottom of the 7th as freshman Emily Dietrich (Sewickley, PA/Quaker Valley) doubled scoring Borders. Petrucci came through again with a triple scoring Dietrich but that would not be enough as Beaver would fall 5-3 in the first game.
Freshman Sarah Foose (New Bloomfield, PA/West Penny) led Beaver with 2 hits. 6 other players followed with a single hit. Petrucci recorded 2 rbis. Freshman Vanessa Jackson (Snohomish, WA/Snohomish) pitched 7 innings for Beaver allowing 5 runs.
Carlow again would start out the game hot scoring a single run in the top of the first giving them a 1-0 lead. They would dominate the game after that scoring 8 in the top of the 6th, ending the game with a final score of 15-0.
Three Beaver players added 1 hit in the second game with no runs scored. Their next game will be Wednesday, April 6, at home versus the women from Penn State Fayette at 2 p.m.
