Penn State Beaver
Vero Beach, FL -- Beaver plays worst defensive game of spring break, falling 20-0.
Entering into their eighth game of the week, the Lady Lions looked sluggish to open their day of play. Giving up 12 runs in the first inning, they dug a hole that they would never recover from.
With their worst inning of the week behind them, the ladies concentrated on improving their play, not committing a single error outside of the first inning. In addition to cleaning up their defense they also started to get their bats going as they were able to generate 6 hits, but were not able to score, leaving 5 runners on base in the game.
Both Rachael Charlier (Burgettstown, PA / Burgettstown) and Brenna Cepull (Monaca, PA / Central Valley) went 2 for 2 in the game.
Beaver returns to action at 12:00 p.m. today for their second game of the day against Delaware Valley.
