Vero Beach, FL – Lady Lions Struggle Against Embry Riddle
After falling to the Eagles in their first game of spring training, the Lady Lions faced them again in their second game of the day. To open the game, Embry Riddle quickly put 6 runs on the board in the first two innings while Beaver struggled offensively generating just one hit through two. In the third inning, Beaver couldn't buy an out as the Lady Eagles hit at will against the Beaver pitchers. In an inning that only saw one defensive error, the Lady Lions gave up 7 hits and 10 runs which was a deficit that proved to be insurmountable when they had their turn at the plate in the bottom of the inning.
Despite the game being called after just three innings, the Lady Lions were led by freshman, Brenna Cepull (Monaca, PA / Central Valley) who went 1 for 1 with the lone hit in the game.
Beaver will return to action tomorrow morning as they face Carlow University for an 11:00 a.m. game in Historic Dodgertown.
