Vero Beach, FL -- Lady Lions fall to Carlow in Day 2 action.
After falling behind 2-0after three innings to hometown rival Carlow, the Lady Lions rallied behind freshman pitcher, Vanessa Jackson (Snohomish, WA / Snohomish) giving up just two hits through the next four innings. In the top of the 7th the Beaver bats came alive and the ladies rallied. With two outs, Coach Kirschner brought in freshman, Sarah Foose (New Bloomfield, PA / West Perry) to pinch hit. With a runner on second, Foose was able to reach on an error allowing the runner to score to give Beaver life. Unfortunately, the next batter was the final out of the game, resulting in a 2-1 loss.
This is a big improvement on yesterday and it seems as though the Lady Lions are starting to find their stride. Leading the way was Jackson from the mound who faced 28 batters striking out 3 and givng up 6 hits.
Beaver returns to action later today at 3:00 p.m. as they take on Embry Riddle for the second time this week.
