Monaca, PA--- Penn State Beaver hosted Penn State Fayette in a double header late this afternoon after the game location was changed.
Beaver earned its first two wins of the season today and earned every run.
In a very exciting game, neither team allowed a run through the first two innings.
In the third inning, that's when the game got interesting.
Off of a Rachel Borrell (Dowingtown, PA/Dowingtown East) single, Mason DePetro (Coraopolis, PA/ Cornell), and Sunnie Liggett (Avella, PA/ Avella) scored. The score is now 2-0. But Beaver didn't stop with the momentum they have recieved off of the scoring.
Borell and Asia Borders (Ellwood City, PA/Lincoln) also scored making the score 4-0.
Fayette would answer back with four runs of its own. The score was 4-4 going into the fourth inning.
Beaver scored 6 more runs. Stephanie Waxler (Rochester, PA/ Rochester), DePetro, Liggett, Borders, Borrell, and Haley Paul (Rochester, PA/ Rochester) all scored.
Beaver then advanced the score to 10-1 after the fourth inning.
Fayette went on to score 4 runs in 3 inning's but it wasn't enough to get a win.
Beaver went on to win 14-8.
In the second game of the double header Penn State Beaver led into the next game with the same momentum they had the previous game.
Beaver was losing 3-0 after the first inning but in the second inning Beaver scored 10 runs making the game 10-3. Beaver regained the momentum after sending 10 runners home.
Beaver would score 8 runs in the last three inning's to end the game 18-9.
Beaver would win both games today.
Beaver's next game is April 18th against Penn State Schuykill away at 2 p.m.
