Mont Alto, PA- The Lady Lions returned to action Saturday, traveling to Penn State Mont Alto for a PSUAC affair.
In game one, five errors and six unearned runs would do Beaver in. Mont Alto scored one run in the first, third and fourth to build a 3-0 lead. In the fifth, freshman Asia Borders (Ellwood City, PA/Lincoln) had a one out triple. Two batters later, Sophomore Myranda Robson (Rochester,PA/Rochester) singled home Borders to pull Beaver within two. Mont Alto added another in the bottom of the fifth to make it 4-1. A one out sac fly by sophomore Rachael Charlier (Burgettstown,PA/Burgettstown) pulled the Lady Lions back within two (4-2). Mont Atlo put it away for good adding three in the bottom of the sixth to make it 7-2.
Game two was all Mont Alto. Mont Alto scored four in the first, and three in the second and third to build an early 10-1 lead. Mont Alto won 13-2.
Beaver returns to action tomorrow, when they host Penn State New Kensington at 2 p.m.
