Lady Lions remain undefeated in PSUAC

Schuylkill Haven, PA- The Lady Lions remained undefeated (10-0) in the PSUAC after defeating Penn State Schuylkill on Monday, by the scores of 10-0 and 9-0.
In game one, Sophomore Alyssa Carver (New Brighton/New Brighton, PA) pitched a gem, throwing five innings, giving up three hits, walking one, and striking out two to earn her seventh victory of the year. Offensively, Beaver scored nine in the third, and one in the fifth to end the game at 10-0. Sophomore Ashley Watkins (Seneca Valley/Cranberry Twp, PA) had two hits, a double, scored a run and drove in a run. Carver led with three RBI's.
In game two, it was more of the same. Beaver scored one in the first, four in the second, and two in the third and fourth innings. This time it was Sophomore Kori Freyermuth (Perry/Pittsburgh, PA) who kept Schuylkill off balance, throwing a complete game shut out and only giving up three hits while striking out three. Watkins led with two doubles and 3 RBI's for Beaver. Carver went 3 for 6 on the day, with a double, scoring three runs while driving in three.
Beaver now sits at 10-0 in the PSUAC (17-7 Overall). They will return to action on Wednesday, when they travel to Penn State New Kensington for a 2 p.m. showdown.
