Bio

Dan Grant enters his third season as the Head Men's Soccer Coach.

Grant played intramural soccer for the University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom, then went on to play for the New Jersey Rangers Soccer Club in the United Soccer League (USL), now known as Major League Soccer. He has been involved in the Pittsburgh Dynamo Youth Soccer program and was director of coaching and player development for Sewickley Area Soccer.

He currently holds that same position with the Hotspurs Classic Soccer Club, official partner of the Riverhounds professional soccer team. As part of a Soccer Goodwill visit, he took area youth soccer players on a tour of the United Kingdom where they trained at the Arsenal Soccer School and the Hearts Soccer Club and played several youth soccer squads.

Grant, a United States Coach at the "D" level, is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and is an emergency medical technician. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Portsmouth and has completed post-graduate work in business at Carnegie Mellon University.

He is a chartered engineer and a member of the British Computer Society as well as a member of the British American Business Council and the Southside Chamber of Commerce. Grant, a resident of Sewickley, is the owner of Intelligent Safety Solutions and Parallel Group.

In 2010, Grant's first season with the program, he led Beaver to a 6-10 overall record (6-4 PSUAC) and a PSUAC Playoff birth. Grant also developed sophomore Tyler Blake into a USCAA All-American.

The 2011 season was a building year, despite their overall record of 2-16 (2-7 PSUAC), the team was able to produce one PSUAC All-Conference player in Brian Nuckols and had multiple players who were honored with PSUAC All-Academic players.
