Pittsburgh, PA – Penn State Beaver traveled to Carlow today to play at the beautiful Highmark Stadium overlooking the city. Beaver was looking to improve after their last game by coming out and playing hard.
Beaver came out swinging to start the game by taking the first 4 shots within the first seven minutes of the match. Although Beaver was applying some pressure Carlow was able to counter and grab the first goal of the game in the 11th minute. Carlow was able to keep this momentum and would score in the 21st minute to take a 2-goal lead which they would carry into halftime. Beaver started the second half much like they started the first by taking the first 3 shots of the half. Beaver was able to keep this pressure up for most of the half and grabbed their first goal of the game when Robert Chauvenne (Georgetown, PA) put one in the back of the net in the 85th minute. Although this goal brought the game to within 1 it was not enough as Beaver gave up 2 late goals trying to get the equalizer. The final score of the match was 4-1 in favor of Carlow.
Penn State Beaver Men's Soccer has their next match on September 14th at home against Christendom at 1:00pm.
